A vision for Free of Cost IIT/AIEEE educational contents

Today and before 10 year too, We Indians started dreaming for so called big college and IITs and student like me has invested full money for coaching. Today more then 10 lakh students gave AIEEE exam. Today getting coaching for these exam is more expensive then college itself. I always advocate for collaborative shared learning. But I have a question that can have some free of cost IIT/AIEEE coaching?
Yes it is possible. These is a need of change the system a little bit. We need to understand of power of collaboration. We need to setup a Non-Profit organisation to generate the educational contents for such exam preparation. If we consider physics , chemistry , math and biology as major subject then these can be taught in 1 year at 6 hour daily in regular classroom. If 1000 student come to give their contribution toward making free of cost , publicly distributed educational material, we can make a good educational content within a month. All you need to divide topics and study well for your topic. After getting mastery you just need to present it in one day. This process take 1 week per student to create 1 video lecture. 1000 student can create 1000 episodes in a week, and in a month we can have 4000 episode educational content. This need donations too. because we need recording and publishing facility. Every videos will be delivered in public domain where i can be utilised in any way you want. I wish I could start something like this very soon.

What u r saying is not only right but it is also the need of ours.....
After reading ur previous post about " Your Ideas on Indian Education System " I have decide to come up with a forum in the summer for my school from where I have done my 12th . The idea behind this forum is to promote collaborative studies and to solve the difficulties of the student's that are right now studying in the school with the help of the alumnus's of the school which are in premier institutes........

and u know when i discussed this with the alumnus of my school they say """ GREAT MOTIVE. carry on """""

What i really want to say is that It will be very good idea about what you are saying but doing it on a large level directly is something which seem very much difficult.... In spite what we can is to first start it on a school to school level and then try to make it centralized..........

As far donation is concerned I don't think that it's a big issue as government school right now are also distributing their study material which is designed by their teacher so , adding your material along with it will not be a big problem for them >>>>>

""""""THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO DO""""""

I along with some of my batchmates is thinking of providing a collaborative learning platform to the students of KV Tughalkabad where they can actually interact with the seniors and alumni’s of their school and can discuss with them their doubts and queries. Basically a lot of alumni from our school are admitted in IIT’s, AIIMS, and other premier Institute but none of them are in the contact with the on-going batches to guide them authentically or to advice them and as our school infrastructure lacks a lot in collaborative way of learning even in the era of Wikipedia, Moodle and other Digital assets management system. We are not saying that we can solve their problem completely but what we can, try our level best to deliver them a robust learning platform where they can actually learn a lot. We are going to built a website for this during this summer vacations which will be basically a discussion forum, this will be a start-up only ; year by year we will integrate it with other facilities.
Now we basically need your reviews and suggestion about it. Suggestion regarding the norms and the extra features that you would like to see in this forum are also welcomed.
These suggestions will not only be constructive for us to built a strong and convivial interaction between the on-going batch and alumna but it will also patronage in augmenting collaborative studies in KVs. By such measures we can guide and corroborate them and solve their doubts or problems amenably regarding their school syllabus and also their higher studies. It will help the students in up gradation of their cognizance and amplify them about various higher studies prospects. The students would also be helped in their choice of various engineering and medical branches and courses. Any doubt, bemusement or query regarding any engineering branch would also be assiduously cleared.
We do have personal 2.3 gigs of web space which I think is sufficient to start the things. We will also get in touch with the principal as soon as possible regarding our association.
We also welcome your valuable suggestions.

There is a basic flaw in Education System. It gives you tensions and you won't be able to think freely. The model we have is *Information Restrictive* , *Non-Cooperative* .The flow of information from peer to peer and Senior level to Junior level is Zero and every student has to repeat all the foolish hardworking step to get small handful of concept. Knowledge should not come from *Hard Work* because by human nature you won't be able to share it. We cannot share the things which we have applied a lots of *Efforts* or *Money*. That is why getting knowledge should be a social and collaborative practice. At last you need to understand that knowledge is not ones personal asset irrespective of the ways and effort somebody has applied. from smile to emotions, from respect to enjoyment, from knowledge to freedom, all are provided by society. How come somebody claim that he has generated some thing new by totally his own? Knowledge is also a social property like relationship, smile and emotions.

but where is the need for coaching ,we just need to study in NCERT .in all this coaching process we are distrbing young minds .

director of IITM ,himself said ,coaching cetres infuse hit and tricks, way to IIT , he simply stressed on CBSE . and perhaps the pattern this time meant the same ..isn't it ??

well, i don't think that u can crack JEE by just reading NCERT. It may have been possible few years back when most people didn't go for coaching, and there was less competition. Lately 5000 students are fighting for one seat at IIT's. Surviving in such a tough competition needs deep understanding and perfection which can be rarely achieved by reading NCERT books. I am not saying that self study can't make u perfect but it is just rare. So, there shouldn't be any doubts about the need of coaching or in other words studying extra pile of books apart from regular NCERT books. Students do need it.

Hello Narendra,

I think its time to take EDUVID on to the stage and carry on much more discussion like this...If you can, please start a forum dedicated especially about the Education System, how it can be further moulded to suite the "real" requirements, and how a project like EDUVID can help achieve such larger transformations.

I extend my whole support in this area as I have always mentioned to you.

With Warm Regards

@VIKAS SARANGWAL

well i agree that it is hard ,but that is what is needed at IIT's .about competition if you say it is more visible in AIEEE. in IIT's one can stop comparing and still hit more than 50% ,it is more absolute than competive .

I had not cracked IIT in 2 attempts ,not even EML this time ,all due to

1.The hype given to the exam :- it just made me feel that it is hard to cross even 30% paper

2.coaching classes advise a group of books HCV,A DAS GUPTA ,,and my tuiton teachers criticised NCERT and school ,perhaps never followed it .

3. all such havoc and basic structure education (NCERT) ,was not clear .

perhaps anyone can get into IIT with AIR 1000> or so ,WORKING VERY HARD .but the real achivers are in 200's and 100's ,who are clever from chidhood due to good concepts .

i don't know if it sounds stupid or so ,but you can call it my perception .

CRITICIZE FREELY.

IIT MADRAS ,director also emphasized on CBSE.
